Hello Everyone! My name is Carrieann Hall and I am the head coach of the Midnight Sun Muscle Club as well as the owner of The Midnight Sun Athletic Club located at 1800 S. Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla Alaska.
I've not always been in this fabulous industry. I was, for many years a Real Estate Para Legal as well as a Manager in the Hospitality Industry but never really seemed satisfied with any of my achievements.
Let me first start by saying that I've struggled with my weight. I quit smoking and drinking 20 years ago and in 7 months gained 70 lbs! Eating carrots, no less!!! I was horrified when one of my brothers, who'm I adore, commented that my butt was getting bigger - what!? NO!!!!
I was introduced to the world of body building at the Ontario Classic when, while in the washroom, Miss Southern Ontario's (equivalent to overall winner at Arnold, for example) Pam Fraser, was brushing her hair and I LOVED the way her bicep popped!! I remember thinking that one day...one day, I will have that too! Thus my journey began.
I started slow and began to notice my body change. This was exciting to me as I had never known "fit" to feel so rewarding. My first show was in Waterloo and I was terrified. I didn't place but I finally understood how it felt to be out there "exposed" and I loved it! I was among my peers and had a great time! I was hooked!
Several years later and several shows later - some won, some lost, I ended up in Alaska, married to a wonderful man who, too, loves to body build. We were introduced to the NPC together and have been working toward different goals ever since.
I've taken 11th at the Emerald Cup, 3rd and 4th at the Alaska State Championships and am very proud of my placings however, I also realized that I need to get tighter and gain mass before I get back on stage and that is where you find me today!
I feel fantastic at 48 years of age as a competitor, mother and grandmother of 2 but most rewarding is becoming the woman that I never thought I could be. I look forward to many more years of competition and coaching some of the most talented group of people I have the pleasure of teaching.
